OK..time for a rant...Warning Warning Will Robinson this may not go well to everyones eyes...WHY do me need a GREATEST QUARTERBACK OF ALL TIME? Why do we NEED a Greatest Golfer of all time??? Why do we need greatest anything? Are we such a poor nation in spirit that we must have sports figures and actors be our heroes? Did it ever occur to anyone that the GAME is what it is because of the people...ALL the people who have made it that way? In case we are confused by a very simple idea, let me clear it up for you...TIME and therefore, games, people, rules, policies...goes on. It goes on into the future and therefore clears its own past as it moves ahead. YES, many have left their imprints. Many have left their mark...Arnold Palmer in golf, Micheal Jordan in Basketball, Terry Bradshaw in football. They were GREAT when they played...they were NOT the GREATEST of all time....BECAUSE SOMEBODY ALWAYS comes behind them!! I am not sure about you, but I see people trying to put this moniker on individuals and the next thing that happens is they make a human move and lose the pedestal we put them on...Why are we a WHAT HAVE YOU DONE FOR ME LATELY NATION? People do what they can...I honestly have to believe that with few exceptions, each one us wakes up in the morning determined to do the best we can, for ourselves, for our families, for our faith, for our careers, for others, for humanity. I want people to revel in the records they break, the art they have shown to their profession, the statistics they have...YES...celebrate those victories...however, do not raise them to places in your psyche that you cannot put yourself. It is such a long fall...and I know no one who deserves that!!!
