OK tonight Im tackling a tough subject......and most folks usually feel very strongly about this one. Tonight Im talking about pitbulls. I will be honest with you - I fall smack dab in the middle of this controversy.....Ive met some absolutely amazing pitties I would 100% trust with my family and others that have terrified me. I think like with any dog its how theyre bred and raised. My rescue friends will laugh and tell you Id rather work with a pitt bull than a chihuahua - ask any groomer but oddly enough chis are 10 times more likely to bite you. Yet I meet a lot of adopters who are open to any breed......except a pittbull. As a rescue we dont often work with pitties - this is because we do a lot of transporting from the south and bringing more pitties into Mass would make it harder for the ones who are already here to find good homes.....plus with a pittie wed probably hold up a foster for a while which means there would be more dogs we cant save. Well, that said Ive just made an exception....Ive watched a handsome pittie our friends at PAWS have down in Alabama. Ive tracked his story....seen so many photos capturing the kindness in his eyes. Then, a couple of weeks ago, I saw a post - He was bit several times in the face by a copperhead snake and was rushed to the vet. His foster mom called out for help to save him.....but who would donate to save a pittie? I called the vets office.....A whopping $150 to get him the vetting he needed to save his life......worth it? We think so ♡ This Saturday at Paws In Play in Canton Mass theres going to be a fundraiser hosted by our friends at Hex dogs - It starts at 3pm - a bit of of a fashion show. Its called bullies4boobies - thats right - and its to help raise awareness about pitt bulls and breast cancer - all proceeds being split between Dana Farber & Pawfect Life Rescue. Please show your support by purchasing tickets to this awesome event. Im sure theres not one person out there whose lives havent somehow been touched by cancer & there are so many of you I know who want to help support our dog rescue efforts! Pawfect Life Rescues own Lisa Davis will be there representing us, hosting a table and joining in the fun! And please welcome Satchel - our special pot belly pig, kid and dog loving pittie - who is now back to his sweet little healty self - to Pawfect Life Rescue ♡
