OKLAHOMA HAY MARKET REPORT 06/19/14 Alfalfa trade moderate to slow with movement mostly moderate. Rains once again delayed alfalfa baling in some areas but the additional moisture very welcome. Demand remains good for all alfalfa offerings but recent rainfall has buyers more selective than in the past few weeks. Wheat haying activities essentially finished and supplies are light. Grass hay harvest will begin to heat up over the next two to three weeks. Grass hay demand mostly moderate in central Oklahoma, good in western counties and light to moderate in eastern counties. Premium quality new crop in the field 220.00-235.00. Premium to Supreme dairy hay delivered to southern Oklahoma or north Texas 270.00-300.00, mostly 280.00. Few loads Good quality in large round bales 170.00-200.00, mostly 170.00-180.00. Alfalfa Eastern Oklahoma: Premium quality in the field 230.00-250.00. Premium quality small square bales 10.00-12.00 per bale. Western Oklahoma: Supreme quality 240.00. Premium quality new crop 220.00- 235.00, instances 240.00. Large round bales Good quality 170.00-190.00. Grass Hay Central Oklahoma: Prairie hay 25.00-40.00 per bale 4 X 5 bales, mostly 30.00. Small square bales mixed grass Good quality 5.00-6.00 per bale. New crop good wheat hay 100.00-120.00 per ton, mostly 100.00-110.00 per ton. Western Oklahoma: Good old crop Bermuda grass 100.00-130.00 per ton. New crop wheat hay 110.00-125.00 per ton, Fair quality 100.00-110.00. Eastern Oklahoma: Good new crop mixed grass hay in 4 X 5 bales 35.00-40.00 per bale.
