OKOWA SUBMITS GOVERNORSHIP NOMINATION FORM,SAYS VICTOR IWEKUBA The National Headquarters of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Abuja, was on Wednesday, 5th November, 2014, set agog when a frontline governorship aspirant on the platform of the party, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa, came to submit his nomination form. As early as 7 oclock on that Wednesday morning, the entire precinct of the PDP national office, also known as Wadata Plaza, had been filled by enthusiastic supporters of Senator Okowa, comprising men, women and youths, who came in their numbers from across the twenty - five local government areas of the State to identify with their principal. At about 10: 30 am the whole place came alive as the frontline governorship aspirant was driven into the compound in his official car marked Senator 70. Shouts of Ekwueme, the Divinely Anointed Governor of Delta State rented the air. It took a long time before the Senator could alight from his car, as everyone wanted to have a handshake with the man his many supporters and admirers loved to call, Talk na do of Delta State politics. Addressing journalists shortly after submitting his nomination form in the office of the National Organising Secretary of the PDP, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa, reiterated his unwavering commitment to giving purposeful leadership to the people of Delta State. He said he would vigorously pursue the implementation of policies that would empower and add values to the lives of all Deltans and non Deltans resident in the State. His maintained that the focus of his administration would primarily be on creating the enabling environment for employment generation and wealth creation as well as giving impetus to education, health care delivery, urban renewal, agriculture and industrial development, adding that every Deltan would get the desired attention from government. Senator Okowa, while promising to consolidate on the successes recorded by previous administrations in the State, said that every part of the State would be accorded the desired attention by government, even as he assured that security and peace would be of paramount interest of his administration, as according to him, we would ensure that the lives and property of our people are adequately protected, while also continually maintaining ethnic harmony among the good people of Deltan State for sustainable development of our dear State. While commending and appreciating Deltans for their continued support for both the Federal and State governments, Senator Okowa lauded the leadership and members of the PDP for a peaceful party congress, and called on Nigerians to give the PDP and President Goodluck Jonathan massive support in next years general election, even as he assured of the Presidents determination to improve the living standard of Nigerians through his Transformation Agenda. Among prominent Deltans that accompanied Senator Ifeanyi Okowa to the PDP National Headquarters were two former Delta State PDP Chairmen, Captain Engr. Pius Senebe and Brother Emmanuel Ogidi, immediate past Chairman of Delta State Local Government Service Commission, Chief Nkem Okwuofu (Aguwanyi), Chief Major Patrick Egone, former member of the Delta StateHouse of Assembly and former Commissioner, Hon. Ross Uredi, former Commissioner for Housing, Attorney- General and Commissioner in old Bendel State and pioneer Commissioner and Attorney- General, Delta State, Bar. Chief J. B. Okpakpor, former Political Adviser to Governor Felix Ibru, Chief Eddy Ugbomah, former Delta State House of Assembly Speaker and member representing Ika South, Rt.Hon. Martin Okonta, former Deputy Speaker, Rt.Hon. Festus Ovie Agas, former Isoko South Chairman and Delta State ALGON Chairman, Bashorun Askia Ogeah. Others are member representing Ika Federal Constituency at the National Assembly, Bar. Victor Nwokolo, former Commissioner for Transport and Environment, Chief Lawrence Oshiegbu, former PDP State Youth Leader, Mr. Jude Onyia, former State PDP Woman Leader, Chief Bar (Mrs) Mary Iyasere, former Warri South Council Chairman, Lady Omagbemi, immediate past Transition Committee Chairmen of Uvwie and Ukwuani Local Government Councils, Hon Bright and Ochor Christopher Ochor, former Ika South Council Chairman, Hon.
