OLD RULES and NEW RULES~part V Tactics and Strategies. over the course of futebol history weve seen different tactics and styles of play being invented, from the famous 4-4-2 formation to 4-3-3 to 4-5-1 and now the more common 4-2-3-1 diamond formation. in spite of the different characteristics of the coaches, what else causes the variance in tactics and strategies? then talking of styles of play, weve indeed seen very interesting ones being invented or implemented within the space of time. from the Gung-ho approach of the Germans to the hardcore man-to-man futebol of the Cameroonians, from the quick-changing klipp-klopp approach of der BVB to the famous Barcelona and Spain tiki-taka. not forgetting the park-the-bus style which Josè Mourinho, the acclaimed inventor, has come to name it 19th Century football. haha. i wonder which style of play has been the most efficient ever in futebol?... i have noticed that these tactics, strategies and styles of play have some influence in deciding which team a fan would support. true? as an admirer of the Brasilian attacking style of play Eric Cantona once shouted: forward my friends, forward! have your say Experts...
