Introductions to the day’s events Truth about Olympic lifts and Injuries (presentation/handout) Common areas and the stats around them- shoulder, knee, and low back. Olympic lift mobility (hands on begins) Ankle Mobility Hip Mobility Thoracic Mobility Shoulder Complex and External Rotation External rotation in the snatch External rotation in the clean Global truths of Olympic lifting Hook grip and how to safely use straps Foot position Why the “ability” to catch the bar low is so important. Top Down approach to Snatch The best overhead position Position 1- - Introduce and Practice w/ a “stick” -Practice w/ overhead squat -Practice with deep catch, how to pull under the bar Position 2- -Introduce and practice transitions from position 2 to position 1 -Practice Position 2 with pause at position 1 -Practice directly from position 2 Position 3- - Introduce and practice a top down set up -Practice lift with a pause at position 2 and position 1 practice lift with a pause at position 1 -Practice full lift and grooving the lift w/ more weight General concepts/history of Olympic lifting, power production, and how it relates to every individual.
