OMFG. A week or so ago, Adobe popped up with a new update for Flash, just as I had committed to doing an AV update. By the time I fought through that, the Adobe pop-up was long gone. I waited a few days but the usual pop-up never turned up on its own again and finally just updated manually from the Adobe site. And then the trouble began. Instantly, my IE became so unstable as to be essentially unusable (no lecturing, as I have places I need to go which require IE, and if you want to fight with constant IE crashes on sites that need passwords, be my guest). I spent the last three days trying everything anyone has ever thought of to deal with ntdll.dll issues and finally found relief with one of the last resorts - I rolled back to IE 9. Voila! Internet, with no errors. But then 30 seconds later, I discovered that Office was hosed. Turns out that an OCR product Ive never used, which puts add-ins in everything this side of Access, was borked. After removal of that, I think Im back in business. I havent run every program I have, but after a restart, Ive successfully started and run all the biggies that I use most. Sheesh.
