OMFG! Is it really all over? I am completely exhausted and half way through a bottle of wine BUT I would just like to thank all of you who came to Kontaani Drumfest from the bottom of my heart for the best Drumfest yet! To our wonderful tutors - Samba John, Jamie and Beej from Drumroots,Djembefola Iya Sako, Sens Sagna, David Woolley, Nigel Sadler and Joe Caudwell (who made the journey from the Isle of Wight to be with us) - Thank you so much guys - your workshops were awesome! To Stanley Head Outdoor Education center - as always you have been fantastic - nothing is too much trouble and you looked after us so well again. To Matt who provided a wonderful space for us to play - the marquee was perfect! To Adder and Craig and everyone who carried, dragged and humped drums and equipment and built the most awesome fires! To Al, who made me give my head a wobble when I was slipping into despair and brought me back to a happy place. To my wonderful band - a bunch of really good friends - we laugh with each other when we go wrong and whoop when we get it right! Our love of playing together shines. I am still gobsmacked that the amazing Tanante, Iya Sako and Sens Sagna were dancing to OUR performance!!!!! To the wonderfully talented Tanante - the most fantastic performance! You just get better and better - my heros. To Sam who came all the way from Norwich, for providing a superb West African Shopping Experience! I spent loads and feel fulfilled! It would not be the lovely laid back festival that it is without the amazingly beautiful Kontaani Wednesday group - you guys are beautiful. The folk outside the Kontaani Group who came for the first time this year - I sincerely hope you had a wonderful time. The Kontaani family just got bigger! From the bottom of my heart I thank each and every one of you. Iya told me today that I have a really good heart - it is because it is brimming over with love of drumming - like attracts like - thank you my drumming buddies - my heart is singing xxx
