OMG - strangest experience tonight on our trip home from camping with family in central Oregon - hwy 42 construction zone - we are lead vehicle ( truck and large camp trailer) just passed flag man with SLOW sign when we meet in very narrow one lane area an SUV coming straight at us!!!!! Its a standoff - we obviously cant back up especially with a long line of traffic behind us. The idiot in the SUV tries to back up numerous times and keeps backing into the guard rail !!!! California plates and Im assuming a rental car probably. Flag man runs up road yelling obsinities at the idiot telling him to back up since he just ran his stop sign. The flag man came to our window and explained the driver didnt speak or read English !!!! What the hell - do safety traffic signs have to be in numerous languages now??? How did the driver get a license to drive in our country if he cant read STOP for Gods sake. To end this rant - the flag man got the foreigner backed up with some difficulty and we are almost home - Thank you God. I think the driver of the SUV should be glad it was not a terrain tamer chip truck he met head on because Im sure he would not have faired as well and might have ended up in the middle fork of the coquille river!! Im glad to be home safe.
