OMG. Okay, some background for my non-Canadian friends... Sun News in Canada is like Fox in the States: a far right, ideologically-run news outlet. Its been on CBCs case for years and whined like crazy when the CRTC (the Canadian FCC) refused Sun to be part of basic cable packages. OK, so this Canadian comedian now in LA wrote this piece about how the CBC should be abolished, and Sun *immediately* picked up on it. Problem was, he was being satirical, and Sun didnt get it. *Now* Sun interviews him, and things get uncomfortable almost right off the start. NB: the bit he mentions about Palestinians and Israelis comes from the fact that Sun is owned and operated by Ezra Levant, whos kind of the Rush Limbaugh of Canada and whos not afraid to use the Jewish guilt card any time it suits him. Sun has, BTW, taken this off its website when it *finally* figured out he was mocking the hell out of them. But its the internet: nothing ever goes away.....
