OMG! Talk about flashbacks! Samoans can relate to their parents being ALL HOLY in church but yet under their breath literally threatening their kids lives if they dont do right in church on White Sunday! lol! Palagi people are loved into their churches, Samoans are tough loved into their churches by the vacuum pipe, wire hanger, wooden spoon...whatevers conveniently near by. Child psychologists calls this type of behavior as being mentally & physically abusive. In the Samoan culture, totally acceptable. Oh p-u-h-l-ease, you got lickens from the Pastors house all the way home through the village because youre damn near related to EVERYBODY! God forbid somebody called your house before you could get the phone because you know your mama (or, in my case it was my grandmother) was gonna be waiting at the door with the belt to finish you off for that day of embarrassing the ENTIRE family! What didnt kill you back then, only made your skin tougher...LMBO! Eh, that was life...
