OMGoodness, I have been so swamped, I havent been able to tell you all what has been going on with me! The documentary on true beauty was filmed last weekend. The crew came all the way from Korea! After seeing Older Ladies, they approached me about being in the final segment of a 3 part series on beauty. They filmed in 13 countries, so it should be an amazing program. The team and translator shadowed me for 2 whole days and were incredibly gracious, sweet, kind and truly caring. They have what they call a serious problem of lookism in Korea. Most people think that true beauty is about the way they look and the broadcasting station sees it as a real problem. Isnt that amazing? I have a friend who lives there and when she comes to her classes with no makeup, they assume something is horribly wrong! I talked a lot about aging and my own personal journey with a long standing eating disorder and issues of self-loathing when I was young and how I overcame all that to sing songs of emancipation from societal norms. We laughed a lot with a lot of the cast members of Older Ladies and we went very deep in the one on one interviews. They filmed me making a typical meal which I fed to them afterwards and they even gave me a gift at the end.
