OMGoodness! This is so exciting! I have spent the last few weeks studying and learning about my new business and now I finally have my FB, YouTube and Blog all tied into each other. I really am not a techno savvy individual so this is a HUGE accomplishment for me. Its exciting and scary all at the same time, but I made a decision not to allow my lifes circumstances to define the quality of life enjoyed by my family. I decided that I will no longer let society define how best I can serve my children as their parent. For the last 15 years I have been fortunate to have been a stay at home parent. I say fortunate because not all parents have that luxury, but I firmly believe it doesnt have to be, a luxury that is. I believe that my children are better off for having had ready access to me for the past 15 years. To know I would be the one to care for their scrapes, their runny noses and bruised egos. To know that when they had a rough day at school I would be here to commiserate with them, to talk with them, To help them understand the dynamics behind the behaviors of the people with whom they were interacting throughout the day. They knew whenever there was a difficult situation that arose I would be there for emotional support and guidance. Why is this important to me because I dont want my children turning to the tv for an explanation as to how to react to people in bad situations. I dont want them turning to their friends for advice on subjects none of them have enough experience to talk authoritatively about because one wrong guess can leave any child in a life threatening situation and I refuse for that child to be mine. Unfortunately my ability to maintain that lifestyle as it stood has now vanished and I, like so many other mothers have found myself in need of an income. Additionally, unlike many mothers I also dont have the luxury of having a 9-5 brick and mortar job. I NEED to be home with my children because of their myriad of medical diagnoses. As such I am amid the process of beginning my own business online. Granted there is a lot to learn, but I can learn it at my own pace, and I have been doing so for the past 3 weeks. Now that I have these social media outlets connected I intend to document everything. The progress I am making, the trips I take with the kids, the things we do together, the situations we encounter as they grow and even to share some of our background with you.
