OMGosh! Im so excited! I got my little tractor out and tilled the area that I want the water to flow on the side of the house. Ive got the front about 10 lower than my slate walk way and Ive got grass seed sprouting. After I tilled the side I took my front end loader and scooped several buckets of dirt and put into my raised bed aka water barrier. Ive planted roses in it but it sloped downward. It doesnt now!!! Then I put concrete blocks around the perimeter of my raised bed. The extra dirt will make it level and allow me to plant more roses as I had run out of good dirt and was into red clay. Next Ill seed what I just tilled and its a gentle slope that Ill be able to mow. Getting this landscape project and water issue finished is making me a happy girl! Not to mention how beautiful its turning out. I got several huge chunks of petrified wood that James has run across on different projects and have them grouped to form a nice focal spot in the (soon to be) front yard. I cant wait until Im not staring at red dirt but rather a lush lawn and two new mulched flower gardens. Pictures soon.
