OMISORE WILL RETRIEVE HIS STOLEN MANDATE The Osun State Governorship Candidate of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Senator Iyiola Omisore, Wednesday declared that he had confidence in the judiciary to retrieve his ‘stolen’ mandate. Omisore speaking with journalists at the premises of Osun Election Petition Tribunal in Osogbo said that the results of governorship election which returned Governor Rauf Aregbesola was marred with irregularities and manipulations in favour of Aregbesola of APC. While expressing his confidence in the integrity of the judiciary to retrieve what he termed his “stolen mandate” Omisore contended that with the avalanche of evidence available to the PDP and his legal team, the public would be stunned with facts and figures on how the governorship election was massively rigged. Omisore, in company of the state PDP Chairman, Alhaji Ganiyu Olaoluwa, and other stalwarts of the party said, “I believe in the ability and unshaken integrity of the judiciary to retrieve my stolen mandate, which was freely and collectively given by the electorate in Osun during the August 9 governorship poll”. “The PDP is here to challenge the result of the rigged election. We have come to expose the massive rigging, electoral malpractices, ballot stuffing and other vices that characterised the poll. This would further show the people that APC has no place in Osun”. On what informed his confidence in the judiciary to upturn the victory of Aregebesola, Omisore emphasised that “even in the declaration of the result on the 10th of August, the returning officer cancelled some elections in Ejigbo local government due to stuffing of ballot boxes. That was the pattern created across the board and we have caught them, trying to perfect their papers”. Omisore added that “it is a matter of time. I believe justice would ultimately prevail. There was obvious malpractices and substantial rigging during the election.
