The last time I checked, the Silverbird has never shown any movie from Kumawood before. Is it true that Kumawood movies don’t meet Silverbird Cinema’s standards? We will get answers. There has been a major milestone for Nollywood as the Oscars has approveda Nigerian committee that will pave the way for Nigerian entries to be considered for the Oscars. What happened to Ghana…Are our movies not that good enough for the Oscars? So this week, a photo of Ghanaian gospel musician, HertyBorngreat and her husband, posing with the Queen of England Queen Elizabeth II attracted scorn and outright condemnation on Facebook. The musician posted the photo of herself and her husband, Pastor Borngeat with the Royal family – Queen Elizabeth II, Prince Philip (Duke of Edinburgh), Prince William (Duke of Cambridge), and Kate Middleton (Duchess of Cambridge) – on Saturday, July 26. She captioned the photo: “GOD WILL POSITION YOU IN GREATER HEIGHTS IN LIFE WITHOUT MUCH STRUGGLE.IF YOU BELIEVE,TYPE AMEN.” Was this a publicity stunt…Is this even a big deal at all? We will find out. The newly constituted interim Ghana Music Right Organization (GHAMRO) board has elected Nana AboagyeDaCosta as Chairman.
