Along with the Choose Your Ride prize bikes, weve got another couple of sensational machines to display – both of which encapsulate very important Australian slices of Dakar Rally history. First up theres the Husaberg Rally Racing Australia FE450 that Dave Schwarz brought home in 42nd position in the 2012 Dakar Rally. The rally-ready Berg will be on display in the exact same spec as it finished the Dakar. Alongside the Berg will be what is arguably one of Australias most significant Dakar Rally race bikes: the 700cc Repsol KTM factory bike ridden in the 2006 Dakar by Aussie legend Andy Caldecott when he tragically crashed on stage nine and succumbed to a neck injury. The potent Dakar race bike has been restored and until recently has been on display in the Birdwood Motor Museum in Andys native South Australia. It has since been sold to a south-east Queensland enthusiast, with the proceeds benefiting Andys wife, Tracey, and children, Caitlin and Mitch. We are rapt to now be able to exhibit Andys Repsol KTM race bike on the TRAIL ZONE stand at Moto Expo Brisbane this weekend - so please drop in and have a close look at it ... and take a moment to remember the great rider who at the time of his passing was mixing it with the worlds best.
