ON GENERAL BUHARI... I have been reading about how General Buhari said he borrowed N27m to purchase nomination form. That is the tragedy of our democracy. Even PDP is charging governorship aspirants to pay N11m to buy form. That is not even the issue. People have been asking the highly respected former head of state how he would pay back but to me, that misses the point. If General Buhari could not afford N27m to buy form, how does he intend to finance his campaign? He needs billions. That is the bitter truth. Better still, how did he bankroll his rally in Abuja that day? Who paid the event planners? From what I saw, that could not have cost less than N60 to 80m to organise, if not pretty more. From branding to stage decor; from public address system (not the type used in churches and mosques) to LED giant screens, I knew they always cost so much going by what Prof. Jerry Ghana spent in 2006. Now, how did General Buhari pay for all these? I can hear someone saying his supporters did. Good one. But how come same supporters could not pay the N27m, thereby allowing the beloved General to commit himself to the excruciating bank loan? To me, I think those managing this man should de-emphasise this incorruptible-man posture. Like Sunny Ade sang, oni iwo ko se ibi, o n ba asebi re. You dont do evil but your best friends are evil doers. The general will likely fund his campaign from stolen funds. Some of them stolen when his current friends were in the evil PDP. Today, they are in the club of saints, APC. I honestly wish Buhari makes the presidency. Lets see how he handles these characters. Said Buhari...
