ON HOPE [The case of my IciBemba speaking families/The universality of wisdom]: Ubushiku umo tabubosha nsofu [Literally translated, this means that an elephant does not rot in one day]. This proverb is usually used in times of difficulties. It is meant to give hope. For example, many Zambians today, because of deception and mismanagement by the PF, have no money in their pockets. They are suffering; their poverty has worsened. But then what they need to know is that these difficulties will not last, they too will pass. This is only a phase. Tomorrow will be better than today. The task for fashioning the future is squarely in our hands today. Others will say, Lala ufwe tali patali. Take heed. Have your say, my beloved friends [Ne fipuba finandi kuti fyasosako, mukwai].
