ON NORA AUNOR: I think despite any background brushes with the law, one should be judged exclusively by ones influence upon ones constituents. Culture and the Arts are not to be questioned by morality. The best of the best were also the most deviant in society. It is exactly by deviating from the status quo that a natl artist will have made ones mark. Judge her destination but not how she got there. Remove this and life would be full of cliches. Zero growth, lackluster lives, zero culture. Its the same way virologists culture bacteria in a petri dish. The host strain influences how the rest of the organisms behave. Cultivate, emulate, inculcate, imbibe...much too big words to expect from our government who have made foundlings out of our performing artists.
