ON SPIRITUAL GROWTH Now, there is a lot about Christian maturity that is very unscriptural. We now have professed Christians who have outgrown the basics of the Gospel and the Christian Faith, under the cover of putting away childish ways. The truth is, if we have truly encountered the LORD Jesus Christ, we can never outgrow Justification by Faith Alone. Sure, God intents us to Grow in Grace in the Faith, but not to the extent that we OUTGROW the basics of the Gospel of Christ. No matter how far you think you have gone in this Christian Faith, NEVER be tempted to look away from THE CROSS a moment, else you will OUTGROW CHRISTIANITY INTO EMPTY RELIGION. It is Gods desire for us to be sanctified for greater works, yet HE will rather constantly have us at the foot of The Cross, ever delighting and leaning on His Finished work at Calvary. One obvious truth here is this: the more you know about Christ and what He actually did for you on The Cross, the more you will take delight in His Cross - Christ and Him Crucified. Those who are truly saved will always reflect on The Cross and appreciate the Love and Grace that turns Wretched sinners into saints. Take an example from Paul the apostle: it is questionable if any of us today has known or done what Paul did through Christ; not many Christians ever finished the task God committed unto them like Paul did; not many Christians can say they have fought the good fight and kept The Faith and sure of a crown as Paul did; yet His constant delight was Christs finished work: Christ and Him crucified was His delight; not having his own righteousness but the Righteousness of God by Faith in Christ was his desire; knowing Jesus Christ and the power of His resurrection and the fellowship of sharing in His sufferings, becoming like Him in His death, and attaining to the resurrection from the dead was an aim for him; even as he kept pressing forward. Today, we have a Christianity that has little or no Christ and Him crucified. Not only is this truth overlooked, but those who dwell on Christ and Him crucified are mostly perceived as childish and naive by those who have strayed from Christ and have betrayed what matters much to Our LORD. Dear reader, never be deceived into thinking you are becoming a man or a more matured Christian by going into some seemingly more spiritually matured things which have no basis from Christ and Him Crucified.
