ON THE GOVERNMENT SPYING FIASCO: So, as I stated earlier, I was both curious and concerned about the claims of government monitoring citizens social media, I was even more taken aback that the article noted YOUTH as the demographic being monitored! So I contacted the owner of JL Creative Source Mr Jeston Lett and asked him very plainly, in my Kevin Hart voice, Why are you spying on citizens?! He noted the following: 1) The company was hired to do social media marketing, part of which requires feedback and monitoring of the information THEY put out. 2) The software can only trace/track YOUR post if they are made public. 3) The government arent the only clients using this service, several corporate entities (which he named, but which I wont name because its unethical) also contract his services using the software to track customers responses and statements about their respective brands and products. At this point he asked a pertinent question: Is the issue about what is being done? or the fact that the government is doing it? Is the uproar because people dont trust the government? What is it? Off course I was most curious as to why youth were being allegedly monitored! To this he noted.. 4) We are not targeting any specific demographic, based on the report, this was the largest group in the results, meaning, the most people that commented were in these age groups 5) I was quite curious as to the type of programme used as I wanted to research its capability, as such I asked Mr Lett if he could give me the name of the programme, to which he responded - Its a cloud based social media marketing solution, your are a smart young lady, im sure you know I cant give you the name, thats our competitive advantage ##### The end! - Do note that this was NOT a private conversation I indicated my intent on posting this to the respective party and although there was some hesitation (apparently im controversial?) he did give his consent!
