ON THE REPORTED PLOT TO KILL THE CONFAB 2014 REPORT ---------------------- As reported by Vanguard, the plot to kill the report includes lobbying senators and Lawmakers to kill the Report. That is possible in Nigeria of the present day, where nation hood is fast depending what share of the oil money people get. In any case; Killing the Report will not kill the knowledge people now have of what Nigeria should be. People now know what ought to be, to live happily together as one Nigeria. But this is under the unlikely assumption that the Report will be killed. Majority of Nigerians still believe in the great potentials of this nation as one country. The plotters may continue, their records will speak for them, soon. Nigerians are watching, and praying. Killing the Report will show how some leaders see and care about the use of the wealth of this nation. To destroy the gains of 95% Over disagreement on 5% is a bad sense of judgement! Killing the Report will mean, asking What can you do?, to other Confab delegates who made contributions, left their businesses, made useful contributions in time and money. I think the most un wise question is to ask a contender What can you do? If you taller than a man, you cannot also be shorter than the same man! Think of that in this situation. Those who want to kill the Report should remember that the Amalgamation treaty expired December 2013.The Report is the new basis for North and South to exist in one nation. Killing the Report therefore may be laying foundation for frustration that will challenge the Unity Of Nigeria, in the long run. Will it be wrong to consider such an action retrogressive, anti-nation, and therefore a dangerous trend? Such persons Must be well advised, to think twice. Finally, we can maintain the status quo without destroying the basis of trust in Nigeria, by Nigerians. Killing that Confab Report will prove to be a most unwise action. For example, Some people initially thought that they could use Borko Haram to get amnesty and twist arms to get into Aso Rock. Today, it has not worked out as they planned, and Borko Haram has left their zone worse of economically. They are full of regets and that is part of the frustration and pain they are expressing in the 5% imbroglio, and the wrong fight against GEJ. Every decision brings inevitable consequences and responsibilities. Nigeria of today can throw back on any person. Those plotting this nefarious and ignoble death of the Confab Report, should again, think deep, and very deep! A man who did not count the cost of building, before embarking on construction should be ready to end up with an unfinished project. A man who brings ant infested firewood into the house, should expect the visit of lizards. Where the Carcass is, that is where vultures gather! Let us imagine, what kind of mind bungling waste it will amount to, in terms of material and human resources,in Borno State, if as we hear, Dr. Shettima decamps and returns to PDP. Killing the Confab 2014 may swing either way and lead to regrets. We pray the Report prevails.
