ON THIS DAY IN BEATLES HISTORY: December 9th 1968; Newsweek magazine announced that The Beatles (aka: The White Album) had sold 1.1 million copies in the United States within 5 days of its release. This is the album that George came into his own as a songwriter with 4 songs on the album. Here is one of those songs that Ive always thought was beautiful, but you dont hear very often, Long, Long, Long. Heres a couple facts about this song: 1) George Harrison wrote this and sang all the vocals. The you in the song refers to God. 2)The Beatles recorded 67 takes of this song. 3) The rattling sound at the end is a bottle of Blue Nun wine that was left on a speaker. 4) The last 30 seconds of this song has been called an audio simulation of Pauls supposed death in 1966.....Enjoy!
