ON THIS DAY IN BEATLES HISTORY: December 9th 1968; Newsweek magazine announced that The Beatles (aka: The White Album) had sold 1.1 million copies in the United States within 5 days of its release. This is the album that George came into his own as a songwriter with 4 songs on the album.
