ON THIS DAY IN MUSIC HISTORY: September 24th 1967; The Beatles film the staircase dance sequence to the song Your Mother Should Know for the television movie Magical Mystery Tour. This is one of the things that led to the rumor of Pauls death because he was wearing the black carnation. Paul wrote this song at his upright piano surrounded by his relatives in a couple hours. He wrote it because that atmosphere reminded him of family gatherings from when he was a child with everyone crowding around the piano at home singing dancehall music while his father played the piano.
