ONE FOOT IN MY MOUTH 18/8/14 No 139 Editorial:- Has anybody noticed the change in the weather. My first inclination of the onset of Autumn is the realisation that the heating has been turned on in Stalag Gulag 1. I know we don`t need it, and you can turn it down, but 8 months already, and I`ve not even planted my ground nuts. Mind you as you get older you are nearer your, er, they just get nearer the ground. Around The World:- Heard on BBC Radio Two, when asked about people found in a container this morning the reporter replied, It`s not clear how come they got here. It`s not clear how come he got that job. Oh and end of, another grrrurh. Staying on funny place names. We did some recently. And I do lift these from various sources. In Somerset there`s `Compton Dando` and `Nempnett Thrubwell.` And in Lincolnshire along Ermine Street, a sign that states Spital-in -the -Street: please drive carefully. I do remember many years ago an official sign near a school, on a sharp bend, in Norfolk read, Slow you down boy, kids about. Lets not get carried away with England`s test victories over India in the test series, India were maybe just preparing their limited overs strategy. However we are proud , or at least we should be, of our Ladies Rugby team after winning the World Cup. Fantastic after losing in the final for the last - I think - four championships.
