ONE LAST VISIT TO THE FARM (HOPE YOU CAN STAND IT) Okay, so Im a farm boy. When I was a kid in Ky. October was my favorite month. The air smelled great, the days so clear that the brightness hurt your eyes. Leaves were turning color, the wild-life was busy storing stuff for winter and you could hear them working the trees. Everybody loved Indian Summer. I have no idea why its called that since American Indians seemed to live by the same seasonal changes as everyone else. Anyway, the crops were all harvested and the living was easy (for a farm). I went fishing every afternoon in our large farm ponds that I had stocked with bass and bluegill. Wide open bite! There were days Id catch and release 20-30 bass, some as large as 5 pounds, all taken on a flyrod. Heaven has to be like that. The trip to the truck farm that Joni and I took with Carson reminded me of those times; hence the nostalgia. The topography is different than Ky. but the beauty remains. Also, since I have a little interest in medical history, and the Ebola epidemic is raging, I decided to do a few posts on my blog that some of you might find interesting.
