ONE LIE TOO MANY. CHAPTER SEVEN: He quickly turned his phone upside down trying to avoid my questions. Taylor: “Just a friend… anyway how come you don’t have a boyfriend?” I almost choked on my drink, not because of how he changed the subject but because of his question. I thought to myself – why are you taking ages to answer his question, just be straight up with him- Me: “What makes you think I don’t have one?” Looking back at my beer like there was something really cool printed on the bottle. He gives me this amused look like I said something funny. Taylor: “Aaaahh have you forgotten your brother is my mate, hate to break it to you but he’s told me all about your dilemma with a certain male in your life. Is that why you went to Auz?” With curiosity in his face expression and me starting to get abit annoyed with Sam for telling people my situation, but I wasn’t gonna bite his head off for it, after all it was now left in the past. I looked at Taylor and thought why is this guy so curious to know. Me: “Yeah, well that’s all in the past now” Taylor: “have you considered dating again?” Me: “Nope im off limits, all im focused on is just work and my family, and your asking a lot of questions” Taylor: his phone starts ringing… “Sorry I’ll be back, just gotta take this call” Me: “Algud, I’m just gonna head home, getting abit tired” Taylor gives me a nod and off I went, while I was walking home for some weird reason I had the urge to txt Tee. I knew he was out with his boys but I felt like talking to someone. I tried calling his phone twice, it just beeped and went to voicemail. In my head I was thinking maybe he left his phone in his car. I wasn’t bothered. 2 weeks had past and it was coming up to the day before the closing ceremony for Rugby World Cup. That night while getting ready for bed my phone rung, I answered and it was Tee. Tee: “Sup homo” Me: “Eww what a rude dude lol what you upto?” Tee: “Nothing just got home from work, how you been? Haven’t heard from you in ages aye” Me: “Ive been good thanks, oh true what time did u finish?” Tee: “about 2 minutes ago, just thought I’ll call u seeing as I haven’t heard from u in a while” Me: “well thanks for calling, I can assure u im well and still alive lol” Tee: “Hey Im in your area, just driving past to go home” Me: “Oh are u stalking me punk? Lol” Tee: “Man who would wanna stalk u idiot” Me: “hahahhahahhaaa sorry thought u were stalking me lol, anyway I’ll let u go aye, Im gonna head off to bed now, got an early start tomorrow” Tee: “Sweet I’ll txt you” After we hung up I couldn’t stop smiling, wondering what he looks like, is he buffed or is he skinny lol man a lot of things were running through my mind at the time. I slowly drifted off to sleep and was woken up by the sound of Sam running up and down the corridor along with my mum asking him whether he’s packed Jane’s bags. Me: “Sam!! Whats going on?” Sam: “Sis Janes having the baby, they had to induce her” No earlier in the week Jane had been admitted to the hospital because she was 2 weeks overdue, they had her checked and found that her water broke a week ago and baby was just floating around in his own waste, and slowly getting cooked in her belly.
