ONE MANS OPINION by Randy Orris -- Thursday, Oct. 23, 2014 EXACTLY WHAT IS IT THAT COULD HAPPEN AT ANY MOMENT? ► Is it the sudden, surprise rapture of the church? I dont think so. [You are entitled to believe what you want to believe, as am I.] I believe that Jesus taught His disciples that they would literally see the Abomination of Desolation (the Antichrist) standing in the holy place (i.e., the rebuilt Temple in Jerusalem, which hasnt happened yet) BEFORE the Son of Man gathers His elect to heaven. Both of those passages are in Mt. 24, which I believe that Jesus spoke to and about Him redeemed people. It is an absolute fallacy to force Mt. 24 into saying something it doesnt say. He did not speak of the Jewish Nation (which is the unfounded belief of all pretribbers). He will come exactly when He told us He will return and resurrect the dead and rapture the church -- at the opening of the 6th Seal. We do not know the exact day or the exact hour, but beloved, we do know the exact events to look for ... because He told us. Jesus Christ will absolutely rapture the church BEFORE the wrath of God falls on a Christ-rejecting and beast-worshiping planet with the sounding of the first trumpet; but He is not coming at any moment to catch us off guard. That is not how He treats the church. You are told to watch and pray, in order that you may be worthy to escape all these things and to stand before the Son of Man, which will be at the Judgment Seat of Christ. WELL THEN ... IF THE RAPTURE IS NOT GOING TO HAPPEN AT ANY MOMENT ... IS THERE ANYTHING THAT WE ARE WARNED ABOUT IN THE SCRIPTURES THAT COULD HAPPEN AT ANY MOMENT? ► Yes! Something could happen at any moment. You and I could die at any moment. That is what should occupy our thoughts ... not missing the rapture and being left behind to suffer. We will all suffer. There is no other way. Jesus suffered and died for our sins, but we will (according to Jesus himself) all suffer tribulation (of one kind or another) in this life. Christians will face the Antichrist. What you will *not* suffer is the wrath of God, if your name is written into the Lambs Book of Life. The rapture will not happen today or tomorrow, but you could well die today. When was the last time you heard that from the pulpit? It is time for all of us to get our personal houses in order and forsake our idols, returning daily to the foot of the cross for salvation and satisfaction. No experience satisfies like partaking of the body of Christ, and no beverage satisfies like the blood of Christ. Am I saying that you are not saved if you dont believe in a prewrath rapture ... which is the position I have explained? Absolutely not. Am I saying you or your pastor are false prophets because you dont believe what I do? Absolutely not. What am I saying? I am saying to check all, things that you believe and have the strongest Scriptural foundation possible for your beliefs -- all of them, not just the basics, so to speak. This particular subject, in my opinion, is actually not up for grabs. Jesus was very precise and explicit when He spoke about the events surrounding His return. You and I are responsible to Him to know what HE said, and to take it to heart. And yes, I am going on record before God in telling you that the Son of Man is not returning today. Forsake sin, embrace the cross-centered life, live in holiness before God, and enjoy each moment that you live ... not because you live in fear that you might miss the rapture ... but because you are living in a glorious expectation that at any moment -- at any moment -- you may die and will then enter into the arms of your beloved Jesus. We will die. All of us will die. But death is not the end. You were born to be reborn, and you were reborn to live forever with the One who died for you
