ONE MONTH TO GO TO Levon Night! tickets.ie Great to see Levon will be honoured with the Spirit of Woodstock award: Levon Helm announced as posthumous honoree at Spirit of Woodstock ceremony MOUNT TREMPER — The Woodstock Film Festival’s third annual Spirit of Woodstock Celebration will honor the late Levon Helm and Markertek Founder/CEO Mark Braunstein. The gala is scheduled for April 26 at the Emerson Resort. The Spirit of Woodstock award will be received by Helm’s widow Sandy and daughter Amy Helm, as well as by manager Barbara O’Brien, who runs Levon’s Midnight Ramble. Helm died in 2012 after a longtime battle with cancer. Braunstein will be honored for his entrepreneurship, innovation and economic development in the Hudson Valley. Markertek is an audio and visual equipment supply company based in Saugerties. Grammy Award nominated musician Robbie Dupree will be the evening’s special awards presenter. The Spirit of Woodstock Award is given to individuals who have made significant contributions to the Hudson Valley in the areas of arts and culture, politics, innovation or economic development. Previous Spirit of Woodstock award honorees include Woodstock concerts promoter Michael Lang and Congressman Maurice Hinchey. The event is a fundraiser for the Woodstock Film Festival.
