ONE OF THE ACTIVITIES OF THE BHUTAN KIDNEY FOUNDATION (BKF) FOR THE GENERAL PUBLIC: As most of us are ware that the BKF is at its infant stage, however BKF been supporting not only the kidney failure patients and their families and transplant recipients but also those citizens who doubt that they have developed the symptoms of kidney disease like swelling of face and leg, frequent urination at night, blood in urine, burning sensation while passing urine, nasua and vomiting, continued headache due to un-diagonized high blood pressure, continued back pain (where kidneys are located), getting tired very fast and others... As soon as the foundation receive a call or email, we immediately respond and proceed with necessary procedure. A week ago, the foundation received a call from 48 years old male from Kabesa, Thimphu sharing about his swelling of legs and face. However, since the symptom showed like it is because of kidney disease but to ensure the true cause, the foundation assisted the patient to see the specialist which later confirmed with the kidney function problem in both of his kidneys. With continued test and follow up, he shall soon have to be referred for further treatment. The number of kidney failure individual amongst the population have now crossed 140 in the country and the foundation urge each and every citizens to kindly watch closely to self health as well as your loved ones.
