ONE OF THE DELAY IN MARRIAGE: Looking for a perfect match A young man came to Jesus in Matt. 19:16 and address Jesus as Good Master or Perfect Master but Jesus cautioned him in verse 17 Why callest thou me good or perfect? There is no one good or perfect but one, that is God. Looking for perfect match is one of the reason for heart breaking and divorce today. Pastors and Marriage Counsellors has preached that people should be looking for their perfect match in their relationship. There is no perfect person on earth and you should stop looking for any. No one is perfect. I am not perfect and you are not either. The reason why there is no perfect person is because we are human. Even when Jesus came as a man, He still referred only God as perfect because Jesus was human then. As long as we are human in the flesh then we can not be perfect. God loves His children and He knowns their frame that they are human. God does not have a perfect person to give to you. God will lead imperfect people to you and you make their imperfection become perfect by your loving and understanding them. You can not change people only God can. But you can only change people by loving them. Stop looking for perfect spouse. Someone is engaged and he or she has invested year, time, money, emotion and care in the relationship but they started looking for perfection as both of them can never be perfect. They went separate ways after years of relationship. Then they entered another relationship and they still experience same dilemma of perfect match. Now she or he is now close to 40years and blaming devil for her single statues. You can not find perfect spouse on earth. They does not exist. The one God has given you then appreciate him or her and work on your differences in love. There must be difference between you because you can not be perfect. Look for some that is suitable for you. Even English people says ;Opposite attracts Your spouse must be opposite of you. If you are hot tempered person then your spouse should be cool tempered person. Its not possible for your spouse to be like you or see things as you. But when you get married then both of you will fused together. That is when both of you will start looking alike and behave alike because of the fusion on love. That what we call understanding. Look for a spouse of good character with humility, respect and suitable for you. He or she may have some weak point that is when love comes in. Bible says Love cover multitude of sins. Love him or her the way she or he may be. Because God Himself love her. It is only God that can change people. Hating them or shouting can not change them but love. Marriage is honourable abd you should go ahead and plan your wedding. Stop looking for a perfect person because you can not see any. God only have imperfect people to show you as spouse with an assignment for your to make them suitable for yourself. Even you that is looking for a perfect person, are you perfect? Do not allow the devil to deceive you. Stop looking for a perfect person. Thete is no perfect marriage anywhere. It is your own responsibility to make your own marriage perfect as love cover the multitude of fault in marriage. You make your own marriage perfect by allowing the word of God to be your marriage standard. You are blessed
