ONE QUICK LESSON The recent political primaries across Nigeria - TopicsExpress

ONE QUICK LESSON The recent political primaries across Nigeria have not been perfect. Yes, there have severe complaints and allegations of imposition and fraud. These have been with our electoral system. This years party primaries are improvements to the past party primaries. Take it or leave it. The lesson, which only critical observers will notice is that Nigerians are getting increasingly interested in how political parties elect their candidates and seem to have gradually started influencing the outcomes in some places. You may not believe this too, but it is true. The public interest and watch cut across political party lines. Our duty now, as keen observers, is to monitor how the interest and watch will impact on the 2015 general elections. There seems to be serious anger in the country against incumbents, regardless of their political parties. Many incumbents and immediate past public office holders lost their party primaries: Laraban Maku, Worgu, Obanikoro, etc. If Nigerians can demand or force our politicians to embark on issue based electioneering, the countrys politics can be described as: set to improve. One thing for sure is that 2015 general elections will be real tough, and will bring surprising packages. Watch out! Good morning, friends.
