ONE Riding through the desert, I came upon a man, Standing - TopicsExpress

ONE Riding through the desert, I came upon a man, Standing like a statue, On the burning yellow sand, He was pointing to the west, And the setting of the sun, When I asked him what his name was, He said, my name is One. Im one of the many, Im one of the few, Im one of those who dont, Im one of those who do, Im a nomad seeking fortune, And Ill never find a home, Im one and that means Im one, alone. I pondered what he told me, And the mystry of his name, I wondered at his darkened skin, And guessed he was insane, So I asked him why he pointed west, Toward the setting sun, He looked me in the eye And said, because my name is One. Im one of the hungry, Im one of the fed, Im one who has been cut, And one whos never bled, Im a prophet with no country, I will never have a home, Im one and that means, Im one, alone. I left him in my shadow, As I rode into the light, And soon I crossed a sand dune, And left him from my sight, The setting sun grew orange, Before it passed away, I settled into dreams, But, still, I heard him say... Im one, dont you know me, Im one, I think you do, Im one who is familiar, Because that one is you, Youre a nomad seeking fortune Youll never find a home, Youre one and that means, Youre one, alone, Youre one and that means, Youre one, alone.
