ONE WEEK FROM TODAY!!! The First Annual Abilene Baseball Club Alumni Game will be held on Saturday, June 15th, 2013 at Ted Power Field in Abilene. The game will feature former players and coaches playing against current Abilene Babe Ruth team members. The festivities will begin at 2pm with an open batting practice for Alumni team members. This should be a fun event for the public and family members to watch. The game will be played at 3:30pm and there will be a barbeque for all participants following the game. The Abilene Baseball Club Alumni Game is open to all alumni of the Abilene Baseball Club, Abilene Babe Ruth teams, and Abilene youth baseball program from past years age 19 and older. The event is open to former PLAYERS, COACHES, MANAGERS, and BOARD MEMBERS. Alumni DO NOT HAVE TO PLAY to be a part of the event. Alumni participating should bring pants, spikes or cleats, and gloves. Alumni participating receive an event t-shirt and meal. The cost is $25.00 to participate. The event is a fundraiser for the Abilene Baseball Club to help with the purchasing of equipment and uniforms, and to help with umpire costs for the youth baseball program from Coach Pitch through Babe Ruth. Alumni family members and the general public are invited to come out and watch for free. A limited supply of game jerseys from the past will be available for a minor cost (maybe an alumni member could get their old jersey). The Abilene Rebels 16-18 year olds baseball team will host Hillsboro for a double-header on Friday, June 14th beginning at 6pm and alumni are invited to be there for the game before Saturday’s alumni game.
