ONEIL WELCOMES SOGAVARE Prime Minister Peter ONeil has welcomed the election of Manasseh Sogavare as the Prime Minister of the Solomon Islands. Mr Sogovare was elected Prime Minister, in Parliament this morning. Prime Minister ONeil says the Solomon Islands and Papua New Guinea have a strong bilateral relationship, in cultural exchange, trade, and investment, and he is looking forward to working with Mr Sogovare in enhancing this relationship. Mr Oneill there are still area in which they can work together, especially in areas of fisheries, agricultural production and education. He also says hed like to see more students from the Solomon Islands given the opportunity to study in PNGs universities and technical schools, to increase social engagement between the people of these two nations, and establish long-lasting friendships. Prime Minister ONeil stated that Papua New Guinea looks forward to further working with the new Government on a range of sustainable development issues that will benefit the people.
