ONGOING LIFE SAVING ACTIVITY Mr AJ Edwin who was my colleague for years at work and a very close friend called for O+ single donor platelet donor as his wife Rosy admitted at St Martha’s Hospital who was administered 4 units of O+ random donor platelets last night 24th Aug was not having her platelet count increased and doctors advised him to arrange a O+ single donor platelet donor. LionsBloodLine.Com enrolled O+ donor Karthik (seen in picture) responded to our flash message and donated sdp on 25th Aug 2014 morning itself while Kuppuraj and Mahadevaiah HG who also responded positively were kept to be contacted if further needed. Edwin was so full of gratitude. (His son had donated blood 4 times earlier, and was not eligible now, but when the family was in need, God saw to it that they get the same.) Mrs Rani was in frantic search for 3 units of A+ blood for her husband Ananth Raj at Shankar Cancer Hospital. A relative donated one unit and they were in need for 2 more and she was given our contact details by Socrates. On her contacting us on 25th Aug afternoon and we flashing the need, we had Harsha K Hiriyal responding and donating his A+ blood in an hour. Vishwanatha BU was also able to reach them and donate his A+ blood in about 2 hours time on 25th Aug itself. Another enrolled donor with us, Amit Gandhi also donated his A+ blood at Sathya Sai Super Speciality Hospital on call today 25th Aug. Late night on Sat 23rd Aug Sri Sudhakaran KK was desperate for replacing 4 units of blood at Ramaiah Hospital which was used for his 12 year old son Rattan who was in ICU. Against our flash Pradeep HP donated his B+ blood on 24th Aug morning. Sudhakaran’s elder son and 2 other relations also donated and so the requirement was met. Mahadevan HG, Vinod, Shankar Narayan and Ramani were also ready Imagine condition of a couple from Manipur leaving their small children there with relatives and coming to Bangalore for the wife’s surgery and need to arrange 5 units of A+ blood at Narayana Hrudalaya. On we being contacted , we had Balasubramaniam enrolled O+ donor working in Electronic City getting 3 donors from his office donating blood on 28th evening. Rupesh Chaudhury and Anshul Ahuja rode all the way to Narayana Hrudalaya on 29th morning(Ganesha Festival) and donated their blood their.
