ONLINE PLATFORM SEEKS TO SUPPORT LOCAL SCHOOLS Local businessmen join forces to launch fundraising on-line marketing platform Two Norfolk-based businessmen have joined forces to create a website linking local businesses to local schools, offering a powerful on-line marketing platform which they believe will benefit both the schools and those businesses choosing to support the scheme. The on-line community, called Traded.org.uk, will launch at the Chamber of Commerce Business to Business Exhibition, which takes place at Norwich City Football Club on 17th October, and founders Jonathan White and Andrew Fisher hope that businesses attending the event will come along to find out more. Jonathan White, Development Director, explains; “The aim of Traded.org.uk is simply to link local schools to local businesses, whilst raising vital funds for schools across the UK. We have already given a free profile on our site to over 31,000 schools from across the country, so it is our goal to now match local businesses to those schools, in a mutually beneficially relationship. Businesses wishing to join pay just £20.00 per year for each school they choose to support, of which £10.00 is donated directly to that school, so it’s a great fundraising system. Businesses choosing to participate in the scheme then receive a comprehensive profile on the website, allowing them to promote their business by uploading news, special offers, events and job opportunities, as well as engaging with the schools they support; indicating their availability to offer work placements, school talks, visits and mentoring support for enterprise projects.” Mr White and Mr Fisher believe that the scheme is a fantastic platform for businesses to engage with their local community, whilst giving schools an opportunity to increase enterprise activity in the curriculum by working with the school’s new business supporters. The idea was conceived many months ago in a playground during the daily school run and has been in the planning stages for some months. Traded has just moved into office space at the Henderson Centre on Ivy Road in the heart of Norwich, and has also recently appointed two apprentices to support the management with the day-to-day administration and marketing. In addition, the team has been joined by Angi Doy to help grow the UK sales team, which is already well underway with a number of high-profile recruitment events. So far Traded has welcomed 10 Local Representatives following the Business Growth Show in Westminster, London and a local event at Dunston Hall in Norwich. The next recruitment event takes place at Hinckley Island Hotel in Hinckley, Leicestershire from 2.30pm to 4.30pm on Monday 7th October. The Traded.org.uk Business Opportunity Events are open to anyone interested in working for themselves, whilst supporting their local community; a role perfectly suited to engaging and enthusiastic individuals looking for a new challenge. It is also a wonderful opportunity to build a unique business for themselves, by building a team throughout the UK. Andrew Fisher, Director, said: “There is so much enthusiasm and support for Traded.org.uk that the project has taken on its own momentum! We are delighted that we are beginning to build a fantastic and energetic team who are so passionate about the project. We very much hope that anyone reading this who is interested in a new challenge will get in touch or come along to one of our recruitment events to find out more about being a Traded representative. Equally, any businesses wishing to benefit from this exciting opportunity or wanting to learn more about Traded.org.uk are welcome to get in touch or join us at the launch in October.” Traded.org.uk will be officially launched at the Chamber of Commerce Business to Business Exhibition, which takes place on Thursday 17th October at the Top of the Terrace at Norwich City Football Club, when the Traded team will be joined by Mr Dale, Headteacher of St Williams Way School, Thorpe St Andrew and some the pupils and a member of the PTA, as well as a host of local businesses who are looking forward to being part of this exciting new platform.
