This New Years Eve, several hotels and clubs across the NCR, have decided to tone down their celebrations, which comes as a huge disappointment for some DJs in the city. Many well known DJs will not be performing this New Years Eve. We spoke to these artistes to find out the reason behind why these DJs wont be entertaining the masses on the 31st. Club owners dont want to spend money on getting well known DJs DJ Monty, a veteran DJ, says, Scene kaafi bura hai iss saal sabhi DJs ke liye. Club owners dont want to spend extra money on hiring known DJs to perform on New Years Eve. New Years Eve is normally the time when we can make good money, but now the scene has changed due to the rules of clubs shutting down early. Club owners are not willing to pay us the amount were demanding. They say that when the clubs shut at 12.30am, who will see the performance? So why should they waste money on artistes, celebs and DJs? Abhi DJs ka career samjho bas khatam ho chuka hai Dilli ke nightclubs mein. DJs refuse to perform at lower rates DJ Mickey says, I have been offered to perform at a few clubs on New Years Eve, but they want me to perform at a lower rate. Main kyu apna rate kharab karun? Bahut mehnat se naam banaya hai, ab kam paison mein kyu kaam karun? Last year, phir bhi private parties ke booking they and we had work. But this year, scene bahut hi thanda hai. All our fans are very disheartened that they wont get to hear us play. Market mein saste-wale DJ hai toh zyada paise dekar mehenge-wale DJ kyu bulayenge? According to DJ Amit B, a well known DJ in Delhis party circuit, More than 70% of DJs in the NCR will not be working on New Years Eve. The demand for DJs has always been high during this time. Unfortunately, this year, its going to be a dull season for all the regular DJs. Clubs ke timings ne Dilli ki nightlife ko khatam kar diya hai. There is no work for DJs this year, in contrast to previous years, when we used to earn a lot at this time. Now, clubs cant afford to pay the fees of well known DJs. Unko `25,000 mein jab DJ mil sakta hai, toh woh zyada paise kyu denge? Amit adds that the up-and-coming DJs are willing to perform for a lot less. The clubs therefore prefer them over the more expensive but well known DJs. This year, most clubs have not planned any exclusive events or any celeb appearances. This is the first time that most of the famous DJs in the capital will not be performing on New Years Eve, he says. No more excitement left on New Years Eve in Delhi DJ Sumit shares, This year on the 31st, Ill be performing in Dubai. Delhi ka party scene almost khatam ho gaya hai. Pehle jaisi baat nahi rahi. DJ Mash adds, I was hoping till the last moment that I would receive calls to perform in Delhi. Unfortunately, that didnt happen and I have been booked to perform in Goa on New Years Eve. Delhis nightlife is getting sadder by the day and the club owners dont want to take risks anymore. There is no excitement left in New Years celebrations in Delhi.
