ONLY KASHMIR BEHIND THE NEWS "Manmohan Singh’s Kashmir Visit, loss or Profit???" During the Manmohan Singh’s visit to Kashmir no doubt he announced Rs. 710 cr for land acquisition. But Kashmir itself had a loss of over Rs 400 Cr during these two days. As per the statistic ‘Only Kashmir’ reserves, Kashmir witnesses over Rs 200 crore trade daily the shutdown calls have definitely affected the business. Manmohan visit left people fuming as the security blanket was thrown around the Srinagar city caused not only great inconvenience to the locals but to the tourists as well. The tourist hub Boulevard was completely sealed, undeclared Curfew was imposed during PM’s visit. Mobile bunkers had been set up to restrict the movement of people as well as vehicles particularly in adjacent areas of Srinagar City. Because of Prime Ministers visit, the recent attack on forces has forced the visiting tourists to cancel their trip. A reputed tour and Travel agency on the basis of anonymity told ‘Only Kashmir’ that a large number of bookings were also cancelled because of the situation aroused due to the visit of Prime Minister. Anyways, the talk of the town is Prime Minister Manmohan Singh’s visit could have turned fruitful if he would have announced some bold steps to solve the Kashmir issue.
