ONLY THREE WEEKS AND FOUR DAYS to SWFCA Clinic/Burrs at Beach. We will be hosting their 21st Annual Summer Clinic In the Wildwoods area over the July 4th summer holiday weekend July 4th-6th. On Friday evening July 4th @ Keenans Irish Pub in North Wildwood Guest Bartenders Joe Rodia, Geno Reilly, Rob Costello, Bill Corsetti and Gary Smith will start the weekend off with a bang from 7-9pm with a Happy Hour and SWFCA Press Release. On Saturday @ 9am the Disabled American Veterans- Chapter 44 led by Association Trustee and Chapter Commander John Walker, Will conduct a ceremony to honor all of the graduates of West Catholic high school who lost their lives during the Vietnam War. In addition other deceased veterans from the CYO operations of past years in southwest Philadelphia will be recognized.If you know of anyone who should be honored please notify John Walkers Sr.by June 25th. The Wall is located at Fox Field adjacent to the Wildwood Convention center at 4500 Ocean Drive Immediately after the Memorial Service the South Jersey 6–Pac Softball Championship will be held with the Villas Tech Bitin Skeeters going up against the Fightin Snappers of Grassy Sound State.. After an afternoon of camaraderie and friendship all Southwest Philly Alums and Friends are invited to join us as we honor more pillars of our proud Southwest Philly CYO community. All our 2014 awardees have deep SWP CYO Roots and will be honored in conjunction with our annual clinic at Echos in North Wildwood on Saturday July 5th. The presentations will take place at our ANNUAL SWFCA AWARDS BANQUET which begins at 6:00pm. This year we will honor Catherine Candy Brennan as our 2014 SWFCA Woman Of the Year. Joe Byrne will receive the 2014 SWFCA Man Of the Year.Our 2014 SWFCA Father Of the Year congratulations go out to Billy Corsetti. Receiving the 2014 SWFCA Coach Of The Year will be Dan McCauley. Taking home the 2014 Spirit of Southwest Philly Award will be Joe Nace. Finally on Sunday July 6th many members of the Association will be attending the 27th Annual BURRS AT THE BEACH reunion of West Catholic graduates held by the WC Alumni Association to raise scholarship funds for current and prospective students . The Affair will be held at Westys Irish Pub from 1pm-7pm and featuring Blackthorne as the primary entertainment of the day who will also be staying on after the reunion for the pleasure of all of Westys patrons that evening.
