OOU NEWS UPDATE Today, 11th of September, 2014, The leadership of the Students Union Government, had a meeting with the School Management in a bid to see an end to the current issue on Campus. Other stakeholders of the University community present at the meeting include SSANU, ASUU, NASUU representativesand all Faculties Presidents. The Management tendered her fears over the likely possibility of merging the current academic session with the newest, should the State Government and Students Union Government cease to strike a compromise on the looming issue of reduction in tuition fee. In as much as the Students Union Government remain highly displeased with our School being shut down by the State Government, it remain sacrosanct to note that our demands for reduction in tuition fee and its immediate implementation,among other noble demands, can not be sacrificed for the reopening of the University. While we (SUG) tendered our own perspective to be considered on the issue, the Management is expected to present this at the next Senate meeting on Monday, 15th of September, after which, a deciding meeting will be holding between the Union and the Management again, on Tuesday, 16th of September, 2014. We however, implore our students to keep their hopes high as ever, for in the face of exorbitant tuition fee, Oouites shall be victorious.
