OP HAWICK RAAF C-17A assists in Ukraine redeployment effort raaf.gov.au/OPHawick A Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) C-17A Globemaster returned the first contingent of Australian and Dutch military and police personnel from the Ukraine as part of the international investigation and recovery effort for downed aircraft MH17. The aircraft, which landed at Eindhoven airfield in the Netherlands on the 7th of August, also carried three pallets of supplies and equipment. The draw down of Australian personnel from the Ukraine is underway, following the conclusion of the initial phase of Operation Bring Them Home. Formal identification of victims, which includes 38 Australian citizens and residents, continues at Hilverstrum military base in the Netherlands.
