OPEN CHALLENGE TO ANYONE IN THE BUSINESS: I notice the you shouldnt eat fruit when youre trying to lose weight debate has started up again on various facebook pages. The sugar in fruit (like all carbohydrates) gets broken down into glucose, and excess glucose in your body is stored as fat Im going to issue an open challenge to anyone in the business or any other self appointed experts on facebook or where ever. Come up with a hypothetical case study of a weight loss client, and describe just how much fruit they would need to consume for it to result in excess glucose which would be stored as fat. As an example: lets say a medium sized banana, medium sized pear, a plum, 100g of watermelon, and 10 grapes. Youre looking at around 280, maybe 300 calories. The physical size is quite a filling meal, ensuring adequate vitamin and mineral intake, and also providing about 1/3 of your daily fiber requirements. If anyone can describe a client (go ahead and make one up, use your imagination) for whom 300 calories would mean excess glucose and fat storage Ill give you mad props.
