OPEN LETTER TO ED ENTERPRISE BANK LIMITED! My dear ED, kindly accept my warm greetings. Sir, I just received a memo signed by you through our corporate communication medium but I felt so bad as I was reading through your statements. Sir, with due respect, I want to know if you really think through the memo before signing it or do you just chose to act in the capacity of the MD without adding any single thought of yours. The memo sounded as if it was written by an illiterate who invited someone to write for him and pend his signature. Sir I suggest that you go through the memo again and answer the following questions to me; 1. Did any of the persons paid gratuity retire or resigned their appointment after 5years of their service before the transition of Spring Bank to Enterprise Bank? 2. If answer to question one is no, what policy was used to pay the said gratuity paid on Monday September 2, 2013. 3. What policy was used to pay Shola Ayodele and her EDs after the termination of their appointment? 4. What policy was used to pay the staff sacked on February 17, 2012? 5. If in any case Spring Bank handbook was used to pay this gratuity, does it mean that Spring Bank is no longer dead? 6. If the answer to question five is yes, then what happened to the shareholders fund? But if the answer is no, then why would you use dead person’s speech? Refer to banking law which states that death cancels all mandates. 7. Please, can you educate me more on settlement of the acquired/transited institution like Spring Bank Plc? I am not writing this to express only my displeasure, I am writing this to let you know that the management team has planned to windup this institution from the things I am seeing. Note that no one has been interested on what you and other members of the management team are earning but everyone is interested in the welfare of the employee of this bank. I am sure you have noticed that more than 50% of the workforce is using their time fight for their gratuity rather using it to perform their lawful duties. The propagated salary increment of 15% is yet to be implemented and nobody has said anything. The implemented 7.5% was attached to PIP where KPI changes every now and then. My ED, I am sure that you and the rest of the executive management know what they are doing. I am no longer afraid of sack as I am out to fight this course at all means. When the FSFS staff was agitating for their pay, I know what it caused them yet none of them gave up. I have lived to understand that anyone that is fighting for his right have no reason to be afraid as no weapon fashioned against such person shall ever proper. That is my case here. Management should look for a way to safe this institution from falling. I suggest that they should pay anyone that have worked for Spring Bank no matter how little the amount could be for the time the person have spent in service with the bank. What we are asking is not much…but it has a great consequences! Thanks for your time.
