OPERATION CONSERVATION... Have you left your tv on stand by? Is your phone charger unplugged when you are not using it? These things sound so easy to do but we have found that it is easier to forget to do them than to actually do them! At WMSP we are trying to get our staff and guests to consider the environment and save energy. We would like our Facebook friends to do this too. The European Association of Zoos and Aquaria are supporting a campaign to get zoos and the public to pledge to turn off at least one electrical device, normally left on standby, when not in use. UK wildlife collections like WMSP, want as many people as possible to make the pledge, because together these small changes to our behaviour can have a big impact in minimising wasted electricity and help cut down the carbon emissions contributing to climate change.
