OPP FINDS SAVINGS 3/28/2014 2:43:26 PM Town Hall can add nearly $859,000 in their bank account, courtesy of a Norfolk OPPs cost containment program. The business plan was brought in last year after council asked our Police Service Board to find $625,000 in savings. Police found provisions by cutting three officers, keeping a tight lid on overtime and having the province pay for their 4 data entry clerks, among other things. And while the board praised the police force for finding the savings, Detachment Commander Zvonko Horvat isnt taking responsibility. The cost of policing coasted taxpayers $13.1-million in 2012, while falling to 12.3-million last year.
