OPPORTUNITY FOR YOUNG LEADERS Dear colleagues, Since June 2013 when the Global Youth Coalition Against Cancer (GYCC) kicked off, the organization has expanded greatly, attracting youths including young prevention advocates, cancer survivors as well as youth-led organizations. No doubt, the organization has made significant impact in Nigeria, Ivory Coast and other countries through advocacy and awareness efforts driven by the Regional Focal Points (RFPs). GYCC now has over 1, 005 individual and 26 organizational members around the world passionate and working on cancer prevention and control. In November 2013, GYCC became an affiliate of the Global Initiative for Cancer Registry Development in Low- and Middle-Income Countries (GICR), Lyon, France with a mandate to advocate for cancer registration. Read more about us here: youthcancercoalition.org In order to strengthen the leadership of our organization, we have created two voluntary positions of Vice Presidents. Therefore, we are inviting applications from young leaders from around the world to fill these newly created positions in GYCC. APPLICATION DEADLINE: Friday 28 November, 2014 Description: The Vice Presidents will work directly with the President (International Coordinator) to provide sound leadership for the organization. Tenure: 2 years, starting January 5, 2015 a. First Vice President (International relations) b. Second Vice President (Coordination of RFPs) Responsibilities: Vice President (International Relations) 1. Work to strategically improve GYCC international image and recognition 2. Support GYCC efforts at building partnerships and collaboration with international organizations 3. Extend GYCC networks 4. Represent GYCC at global events 5. Any other responsibility Vice President (Coordination of Regional Focal Points) 1. Coordinate all activities of GYCC Regional Focal Points 2. Support the advocacy and awareness efforts of RFPs 3. Support RFPs to improve GYCC image at the regional levels 4.
