OPPORTUNITY >>>> (JVS) is recruiting low-income 17-21 year-olds for its Healthcare Bridge training and paid internship program San Francisco’s youth workforce program, Jewish Vocational Service‘s Healthcare Bridge Program (HCB) is a yearlong academic program providing 17 – 21 year olds with targeted career guidance, academic support, postsecondary education preparation, and paid internships in the healthcare field. After the program, participants will be better prepared to enter into a healthcare certificate or training program at the community college level. HCB Program Information: City College of San Francisco Courses: Participants enroll in training courses for entry-level healthcare jobs in phlebotomy, community health work, certified nursing assistant (CNA), and home health aide/personal care giving. JVS Workshops: JVS offers basic academic skills (reading, writing and math) and computer workshops tailored for the healthcare field. Healthcare Internships: Participants partake in work readiness training and paid internships. JVS staff works closely with healthcare employer partners and internship supervisors to provide ongoing support and ensure that participants build relevant and industry-specific skills. Internship Employers: California Pacific Medical Center – St. Luke’s Campus, San Francisco Community Clinic Consortium, UCSF Medical Center, Mission Neighborhood Health Center, On Lok, and 3rd Street Youth Center and Clinic. Eligibility: • 17 – 21 years of age • Have a high school diploma or GED • Eligible to work in the U.S. • Qualify as low-income • 7th grade reading and math level (Students must take CCSF placement tests before starting program) • Available 30 hrs/week for training, courses, and internship Please attend ONE orientation : Every Wednesday at 4pm (225 Bush St., West Lobby, 4th floor).
