OPPOSITION WORSE THAN NRM Today I witnessed an unprecedented intolerance from a staunch opposition by the names of Shawn Mubiru. He posted his single boycott of Daily Monitor newspaper for publishing an opinion poll that put Museveni ahead of opposition. In his post he insinuated that the paper was compromised by the state and also wildly categorized other media houses as state sponsored. I commented on his wall and he immediately deleted and blocked me. Many other comments including that of my colleague Giles Achebe Muhame were deleted too. Here was my comment… “Wild emotions and prototypical of a kindergarten chap is Shawn Mubiru. Dat antediluvian obsession of characterizing all that do not toe ur immature line as state agents will only keep you in the dark and forever. Ivan Okuda gave u an objective and polite thought. Giles Achebe Muhame showed u dat u dont monopolize dat language alone and I am consolidating. Stop monolithic behavior!!!” This clearly shows that if some (not all) of these get the mantle of power tomorrow, they can show us the worst. And I won’t forget this.
